We've got an answer... Kinda... Sorta

So it will lean towards #2 (TLoU style), but not exactly the same.... I'm really curious now.

Riki, you are the cutest ever. Using an anonymous Twitter account to talk to Johanas-senpai. One day, I'll strip you of whatever sense of shame you have so that you no longer care if your name and face are attached to the things you say. One day.

In all seriousness, though, I'm dying to get my hands on the game just to see how it feels. What do you think the over/under is on them releasing a demo?

Wasn't exactly a secret tho :P

I can in fact see them releasing a demo shortly before release, I'd reckon that if they are confident with the gameplay/technical improvements in TEW2, they'd want people to know about that, and a demo would be the perfect way to do so.

I'm not sure TEW2's open nature will lend itself well to a demo, though.

Its open nature might make for the best demo. Pete and John both said that the side quests are rarely, if ever, story related. Like, they'll have their own stories, but they don't really have much to do with Sebastian's main quest. Just release a demo of one of the open areas and make it so that you can't access the main quest at all, and it'll be gravy.

What I mean is, if the level is big and open enough, it might be too much content for a demo... Aka it would spoil too much. Unless they would modify it to block off some parts of the map... It's hard to say. We don't even know how "big" the levels are.... Are they Silent Hill big? Or TEW Ch.9 big?

Hmm, that's a good point, too. Maybe they can do what FFXV's demo did and single out one semi-elaborate side quest and just let players go through that, while also letting them explore the world a little bit (but not too much). Demos don't necessarily have to be very long -- just long enough to give players a handle on what the game feels like.

Perhaps when you're crouching it reverts to how it was in the first game as that can help sneaking around, but standing up it's like TLOU?

This GIFs in the OP shows that this isn't the case. He is seen running like the first game in some scenes.

It's really weird.
