The Evil Within II's World Design simular to Soulsborne?

Postby Nezarth » Jun 17, 2017 12:39 pm

WoW... is all i can say.. Holy Shit..

Then i watched the Bethesda E3 conference i so bored with all the old stuff they talked about, but then they showed the dark hallway and the creepy music.... ahhaha i shitted bricks... is this real i was thinking? TEW II.. and it was.

All i can say is that i have watched the E3 trailer a thousand times and are so happy and pumped for this amazing sequel and also very nice to be in this awsome forum again, it has been a few years :D

Anyway so with the games release so close already i decided to go Dark already lol, so i only watched the reveal trailer and read the first blogpost by Bethesda, and it has come through that TEWII will have a more ''Open World/ non linear'' design.. so my take on it is that Union is ala Soulsborne world design with a Interconnected World..

So if anyone has some insight in this matter, please share it.

and if its true OMG.. imagine a Survival horror Souls Game. :o

Hey welcome back!.

Yeah they said is bigger now but not anywhere near Souls series. The reason the scenarios got bigger is probably because of the side quests they mentioned, which can make playthroughs significantly longer yahooo!

Ok so TEW1 level design with more open areas! nice.

But imagine the twist if it was the case :D Dark Souls 1 Survival Horror :o
Also have they shown the inventory yet? praise for that RE4 orginized Item case inventory 8-)

Yeah it could be awesome but the attention to detail from the developers would be as brutal as Bloodborne was, probably even more so, as TEW1 had astonishing scenary.

Welcome back mate.

Actually we don't know if it's going to be similar to Souls or not. All we know is that there are bigger areas with potential for exploration, and smaller, claustrophobic areas.

We don't know if each area is a "Chapter" than you get to by beating the previous chapter, or if areas are interconnected by a hub (In this case, Union City).

So it could be similar to Soulsbourne for all we know.

So this is what it says on the official blogpost:

"Set in Union, a crumbling city built using Lily’s mind as the Core, The Evil Within 2 presents a mix of closed off, claustrophobic environments that are reminiscent of the first game, and new, less linear areas that will give you the opportunity to explore at your own pace. You’ll be able to wander freely and poke through all the dark corners of the world at your leisure"

Shit i really hope its the case that its simular to either Souls or Alien Isolation with more backtracking in the beginning and then cut off from it later in the late game :)
