I've just finished up a Nightmare run of the original. Going through NG+ to rack up some trophys (which I usually don't care about but it's a good excuse). I'm pretty hyped, I might even play through the dlc again... At least it had one good boss fight.

Two weeks. It's not long.

Can't wait! I genuinely can't remember the last time I was so excited for a game.

It honestly feels bizarre to go from The Evil Within 1, which had over a two year wait between it being announced as Project Zwei to release and with a lot of time in-between learning stuff and speculation, to The Evil Within 2, which only three short months ago we were back and forth in wondering if what Tango was working on was TEW2 or not before it was properly announced.

I am excited though, I hope it manages to both be enjoyable for all and hopefully do well so the series can continue.

I haven't been this excited for a sequel since DMC2, ignore what that game was and imagine anticipating a game that was DMC1 but somehow better. I find the original Evil Within to be one of the best things I've ever played, it isn't a game I recommend very often though because it has a specific appeal. I think the sequel looks much more accommodating and accessible so I'm looking forward to being able to share the game with a wider group of people.

Also am I the only one annoyed that nobody in any of the previews ever tried a leg shot on a Haunted or a bottle to the face kill. It's like RE4 never existed. A few times zombies would fall over and offer up the stomp prompt but nobody ever went for it. First thing I try will be glassing, second stomping. If the stomp is a default skill for grounded haunted then what is push kick and how do I do it? Excited to try out all that stuff.

What platform will everyone be playing on?

PS4, hoping the pop ups are fairly minimal

Did I mention how excited I am for this? I didn't? okay so

I didn't know wtf I was getting into when I picked up the original Evil Within in early 2015. All I knew was that Shinji Mikami directed it, and that was enough to justify the purchase because I loved Resident Evil 4.

For me Evil Within continued what RE4 started years ago; not only did it feel like the ultimate gaming experience that I'd been longing for without even realizing it, but it opened up the survival horror genre to me. As a result, I went back and played various survival horror games for the first time just because I wanted some more out of the genre, and I still do.
Over the past number of months I've played through almost all Resident Evil titles along with Silent Hill games. It was a terrific journey that continued this year with Resident Evil 7; but to think that it ultimately leads to The Evil Within 2 is something that I never truly realized could happen.
In the back of my mind, I've always known that this sequel would be the only way to quench my survival horror thirst- and I've wanted it ever since the moment I experienced the ending cut-scene to the first game.

It's crazy to think how five months ago we didn't even know if a sequel would ever happen.

...but it is happening and the game is just a couple of days away.
